NEW Victor Meteor X MX-90 Racquet - Ultimate Accuracy

There's a new addition to VICTOR’s all-around METEOR X Series racket series in 2013, the advanced shuttlecock control racket the MX-90. As well as inheriting the super rigid and stable frame that is characteristic of the other rackets in the series, the MX-90 offers outstanding shuttlecock control performance, allowing you to dominate the court.
The MX-90 is made using the all new HYBRID COMPOSITE, with its own exclusive physical property settings that greatly extend the length of time the shuttlecock stays on the racket face, allowing you, in the short time required to make a return shot, to play shots that are hard for the opponent to anticipate. It has a 7.00mm shaft with increased elasticity and strength, allowing you to place the shuttlecock with more accuracy, placing accurate attacking shots that put victory within your grasp.

HYBRID COMPOSITE Gives an Impressive 11% Increase in Control
VICTOR’s all-around METEOR X Series features the extremely stable OCTABLADE frame structure and Carbon XT technology, making racket face stability the main characteristic  of the rackets in this series.
The MX-90 get its outstanding performance from the hybrid composite fiber that overturns the traditional manufacturing process completely. This is an all-new material that combines two polymers that are very different physically, giving the racket its rigid and strong characteristics; it also has its own exclusive physical property settings physical property settings that perfectly extend the amount of time the shuttlecock remains on the racket face, increasing shuttlecock control performance by 11% and allowing smashes to be hit that will leave your opponent flatfooted, upset their rhythm and increasing the chance of victory.
The all-new MX-90 also has a 7.00mm shaft with increased elasticity and strength. Relaying on the momentum of your throwing action, the striking power of the shot is increased substantially and shuttlecock control also increased, allowing you to place the shuttlecock just where you want it on court and make powerful return shots that leave your opponent at a a loss.

Draw Separates Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan

The fervent hopes of badminton fans were realised when the two hottest Men’s Singles contenders for the Wang Lao Ji BWF World Championships 2013 weredrawn in opposite halves today in Guangzhou, China.
World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia) and four-time World champion Lin Dan (China) have been involved in the keenest rivalry of recent times. Lin Dan’s qualification on a wild card meant he might have run into Lee before the final, but the draw (draw ceremony; below centre) has kept them in separate halves. Barring major surprises, a repeat of the last World Championships and Olympic finals could be on the cards. Lee’s biggest early test could be Wang Zhengming (China, 14) in the third round, followed by Du Pengyu (China, 3) in the semi-finals, while Lin Dan might have to contend with No. 2 seed Chen Long (also China) in the quarter-finals. Before he plans the quarter-final meeting, however, Lin Dan will have to get past Sattawat Pongnairat (Thailand) in the first round and possibly Kenichi Tago (Japan, 5) in the second (BWF home page; Men's Singles top seeds).
The others likely to make an impact at the championships are Tommy Sugiarto (Indonesia, 8), winner of his first Superseries in Singapore recently, and Marc Zwiebler (Germany, 11), both of whom are drawn in the same quarter as the world No. 1.
The Women’s Singles (left; top seeds) appears an open contest. Li Xuerui (China, 1) and Wang Yihan (China, 2) head the opposite ends of the draw, but there are several players capable of preventing an all-China final. Wang Yihan – eager to defend her crown – will be wary of a possible third-round clash with either PV Sindhu (India, 10) or Aprilla Yuswandari (Indonesia), while Olympic champion, Li Xuerui, cannot take Lindaweni Fanetri (Indonesia, 9) for granted in her third round. With several other contenders, such as Saina Nehwal (India, 3), Tai Tzu Ying (Chinese Taipei, 6), Sung Ji Hyun (Korea, 5) and Ratchanok Intanon (Thailand, 4) in the draw, the Women’s Singles winner will be hard to predict.
Men’s Doubles: Irrespective of the seedings, the pair to watch is the Indonesian combination of Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (6). The two have been in irresistible form, winning the last two Superseries and beating the top pairs with astounding ease. Ahsan/Setiawan are in the same quarter as top seeds Lee Yong Dae/Ko Sung Hyun (Korea), and that should be an interesting match – considering the Koreans have lost three finals to their rivals this season. The other duo to keep in mind is All England and India Open champions Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan (China, 7). Liu/Qiu’s first big test might be their expected third-round clash against Angga Pratama/Ryan Agung Saputra (Indonesia, 10). On paper, the title favourites are Lee Yong Dae/Ko Sung Hyun and four-time World champions Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng (China, 8), who are drawn to meet in the semi-finals, with Denmark’s Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen (3) are expected to qualify from the bottom half of the draw.
Women’s Doubles: China have lost the Women’s Doubles gold at the World Championships only once since 1983 – and that impressive streak might well continue. Top seeds and defending champions, Yu Yang/Wang Xiaoli (China), are favourites to come through from the top half, while the bottom half might be a contest between Olympic champions Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei and Ma Jin/Tang Jinhua (2). Others who may have a say are Ayaka Takahashi/Misaki Matsutomo (Japan, 3), Bao Yixin/Zhong Qianxin (China, 7) and Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl (Denmark, 4).
Mixed Doubles: Indonesia’s Liliyana Natsir will be hopeful of her second world crown after winning the 2007 edition with Nova Widianto. Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir have been in good form lately, winning three of the four Superseries they have taken part in this year, and are fairly certain of making the semi-finals. Fourth seeds Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen (Denmark) too appear to have a comfortable draw until the semi-finals, with their main threats Muhammad Rijal/Debby Susanto (Indonesia) in a possible third-round clash. The top two seeds Xu Chen/ Ma Jin (1) and Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei (2; defending champions) – both from China – remain formidable contenders as always.

TK-7000L makes an Impressive Appearance in Summer 2013!

VICTOR’s First Attacking Racket for Women, the TK-7000L

In the summer of 2013 VICTOR is bringing out its first attacking racket for women, the TK-7000L; specially designed for women, the racket allows powerful and effective attacking shots to be played with elegance, making it a weapon that will increase the chance of success on court.
The TK-7000L fully inherits the fine genes of the THRUSTER K Series; it not only has the Nobel Prize winning material graphene, increasing frame rigidity, and the original CATAPULT STRUCTURE design that increases attacking power, the physical specifications of the racket have also been adjusted to suit the physiological characteristics of women; the racket also has an exclusive smaller G6 grip size, and also creates a strong strike feel, allowing female players to apply achieve maximum attacking effect with limited effort.
Its perfect physical property specifications also allow the TK-7000L to create cunning smash angles that ordinary rackets in the market can’t match, making return difficult for the opponent and increasing the chance of winning points. Specially designed for women, the TK-7000L has left behind any hard, masculine  feel and comes in an attractive pink color, allowing female players to play lethal attacking shots with elegance.
TK7000L_badminton racket

Soft but Strong Feel, Win By Delivery Fast Smashes

In terms of racket feel, the TK-7000L has a relatively strong setting, allowing it to be swung with less effort but still delivering powerful shots. The left and right sides of the frame also features the original CATAPULT STRUCTURE that increases shuttlecock strike energy by 9.75%, allowing women to play powerful attacking shots without having to exert a lot of effort. The graphene added at the 3 and 9 o’clock points on the racket makes the racket more stable and more effectively convert s swing power into strike energy, making power transmission more complete. The precise combination of these three design features free women from the disadvantage of lacking the strength of men.

Physical Settings Exclusively for Women, Creating Perfect Smash Angles

The TK-7000L is an attractive pink, a color many women like. As for the racket’s physical properties, the racket design has been exclusively adjusted to match the physiological characteristics of women, not only giving the racket a relatively head-heavy design that allows players to play powerful shots by “borrowing power”, the TK-7000L also allows players to create cunning smash angles that leave the opponent struggling, bringing easy victory.

NEW Yonex Voltirc I-Force - VT-IF

The Voltric i-Force badminton racket is designed based on Yonex most popular and best-seller racket, the Voltric Z-Force. The racket does not have stiff shaft and the advanced material such as Nanopreme™, but it does the Z aerodynamic head shape and have pretty good swing feel similar to the Z-Force. The i-Force overall weight is much lighter at 5U ( average weight of 78 grams ) compared to the Z-Force at 4U ( average weight of 83 grams ) and, yet, offer a head heavy swing weight close to the Voltric 70 & 80. These combine specifications make the Voltric i-Force much easier racket to play while offering pretty good power close to the popular Z-Force.
Traditionally, extra weight at the top of the racket frame has increased power while reducing maneuverability or control from the player. In contrast, less weight on the top of the racket frame increases speed but reduce power. Yonex solves this problem by using the new TRI-VOLTAGE SYSTEM to successfully combines the contrasting characteristics of exceptional power and control. Within the TRI-VOLTAGE SYSTEM, Tungsten inserts are positioned at the 2 and 10 o'clock positions of the frame, and at the T-Joint area. Tungsten provides more than 10 times the relative density of graphite, allowing the sides of the frame to be thinner and more aerodynamic and therefore achieving the combination of heavy smashes and swing speed or fast racket handling.

The stiff racquet structure at the top of the frame head allows the head to bend in a very controlled way and hold shuttles on the string bed for longer. The thin frame sides then allow the frame to flex more and transfer more energy to the shuttle. This combination allows you to smash with instant power. VOLTRIC IS AGILITY
In VOLTRIC, the weight is balanced on the top of the frame and at the joint area which allows good handling while also maintaining power. The thin sides of the frame and at the top of the head reduced air resistance and improve the handling even further. Players can now make a full swing even during short range rallies as VOLTRIC responds instantly to even subtle movements. VOLTRIC IS STRONG SOUNDING
Another innovative Yonex technology, SOUND FILTER uses new materials at the two and ten o'clock positions to reduce only high pitched and dull soundwaves. This produces a louder and sharper sounds on impact to unsettle opponents, and provides a more aggressive tone to your game for a relentlessly attacking style of play.

[Tennis News] Stefan Edberg says Scot can win Wimbledon again

Wimbledon champion Andy Murray is still improving and can triumph at his home Grand Slam again, according to two-time winner Stefan Edberg.

Swede Edberg won six Grand Slams, including Wimbledon twice with defeats of Boris Becker in 1988 and 1990.

"I believe Murray can still win a lot more Slams. He's good enough and young enough," Edberg told BBC Radio 5 live.

"He's got a few really good years ahead of him."
Murray's 6-4 7-5 6-4 victory at the All England Club gave him his second Grand Slam title following his win in the US Open final, also against current world number one Djokovic, in September 2012.

"He's proved he can play well on grass and there is no question why he can't do it again," added Edberg.

"It could be in his mind to be the number one player in the world. It's going to be tough to get that but that's probably something that can be achieved.

"He needs to produce the results for 12 months, but this could be a great start of it."

Edberg, who had five spells at the top of the world rankings in the early 1990s, believes Murray's rivalry with fellow 26-year-old Djokovic - and several other high-ranked players - will help the sport flourish.

Though Rafael Nadal, 27, and Roger Federer, 31, both exited Wimbledon early, they have won a combined 29 Grand Slam titles, while Djokovic has six to his name.

Edberg said: "Djokovic has many good years to go, if Rafa Nadal can keep healthy he is always going to be a threat and Roger Federer cannot be counted out as well.

"Juan Martin Del Potro put on a great Wimbledon this year, and [world number six] Tomas Berdych has a chance so it will be interesting to follow tennis in the next few years because it's been predictable recently."
